Emmaus House

Residential Care Home

"And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them." Luke 24:15

In line with current guidance, we have taken the decision to relax some of our restrictions. Visitors no longer need to do lateral flow tests before visiting, and are only required to wear masks if carrying out some form of personal care, e.g. help with feeding. We ask that you stay away from the home if you have any symptoms, however.

We would ask that you refrain from wandering in and out of residents' rooms and around the interior of the building. We also ask that you limit the number of people visiting at any one time, due to the size of our rooms.

We are Covid-free at present. If this situation changes, we will need to impose some restrictions once again.

Please continue to arrange your visit in advance by ringing 01946 591362 [option 3] and speaking to the supervisors.

As ever, the situation may change in due course as the infection rate varies or as more guidance is released.

Thank you for your patience over the last two years.

Emmaus House is located at Moresby Parks, Whitehaven and was opened in June 1992 for the glory of God and to provide care with an optimal quality of life, comfort and dignity. The Cumbria Emmaus Trust was formed as a charity in June 1987 to provide residential care for older Christians.

24 hour care is provided for long term or respite care requirements. The emphasis is placed on high quality individual care and attention to each resident, in a loving Christian environment.

Emmaus House provides care for people arranging their care independently and those referred to us through Social Services, those who require short periods of respite care and more.

Cumbria Emmaus Trust believes that our Christian ethos is based on the need to express Christ’s love to those whom we serve as residents in Emmaus House, to the staff and to all who interact with us.
